  OBIT: Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - January 16, 1946 Charles C. Hipskind, 71, Fort Wayne, former Wabash resident, died Tuesday morning at 5 o'clock in St. Joseph's hospital of pneumonia resulting from injuries received in a traffic accident on Dec. 8 when Mr. Hipskind was struck while attempting to cross at an intersection of Clinton and Jefferson streets, Fort Wayne. Mr. Hipskind suffered a fractured leg, shock and abrasions on the back of the head and arms. The car which struck him was driven by Geraline Miller, Fort Wayne, who said Mr. Hipskind stepped from behind several parked cars. He was returning to his home in the Fort Wayne Athletic club from church services. Mr. Hipskind was a native of Wabash and lived here until about 24 years ago when he went to Canton, O., to reside. While living here he was a carpenter-contractor. He left Canton eight years ago for Fort Wayne where he joined his brothers in operation of the Athletic club. He was a member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. The decedent was born April 17, 1874 to John and Savana (Fleck) Hipskind. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. F.A. Endress, Detroit, two sons, Victor P., Rochester, and J. Cletus, Fort Wayne, a foster daughter, Mrs. Victor Harig, Canton, two sisters, Mrs. F.E. Kester, Wabash, and Mrs. L.N. Nagelsen, Detroit, three borthers, T. Fred, J. Lawrence and J. Henry, all of Fort Wayne, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday morning in the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception at 8 o'clock. The Rev. Msgr. Thomas M. Conroy will officiate and the body will be brought to Falls cemetery for burial.
