  BIOGRAPHY: When the family moved to Tennessee during the Civil War, Mary M Flack and Jane stayed in North Carolina. They had met their future husbands and didn't want to leave. Mary married Eli Washington Brown but Jane took pneumonia and died before her "husband to be" returned from serving in the Civil War.
