- BIOGRAPHY: I have NO concrete evidence yet to show linkage UP to John/Thirza as parents. What I do have though is two compelling bits of circumstantial evidence.
(1) In the 1840 Census returns for Lisbon on the same census page NEXT TO John Flack there is an Isaiah G Flack (right age range). Could Isaac G Flack and Isaiah G Flack be the same person ??
(2) in the 1850 Census returns for Lison there are 3 Flack's in extremely close proximity.
Dwelling 552 is Isaac G Flack (age 42) and family.
Dwelling 554 is John (72) and Thirza Flack (71).
Dwelling 555 is William Flack (age 33) and family.
** I have to agree with anyone who says its not conclusive - buts its the best I have so far and its certainly a good discussion point **

OBIT: The Daily Journal, Ogdensburg , 3 May 1883
SUICIDE
Isaac G Flack, an old and respected citizen of Flackville, In Lisbon, commited suicide by shooting himself with a shotgun, on Tuesday May 1st. he was father of George W Flack of this city, and Wilber Flack of Flackville. He had for sometime past shown indications of an unsettled mind. On Monday he took the shotgun and went out. To enquiries of Mrs Flack as to what he was going to do with the gun, he said he was going to fire it off, and did so. He then got ammunition and reloaded it, and some time during Monday took it to the barn. Tuesday afternoon he was missed and search being made he was found dead, having shot himself. He had rigged some sort of contrivance by which he could place the muzzle of the gun against his side and fire it off, the charge lodging in the region of his heart. Mr Flack was one of the oldest settlers of Lisbon.

OBIT: The Republican - Wednesday 23 May 1883
It is the belief of the family of Isaac G Flack that his death resulted from accident and was not a case of suicide. He had taken the gun to the barn for the purpose of shooting crows which were feeding upon carion not more than ten rods from the barn. he had placed it on the hay over the cow stable and his family think that while attempting to pull it down by the muzzle the haammer caught in the hay and fired off. The shot struck Mr Flack in the breast, passing downward and coming out at the back. No inquest was held.
