The regular monthly sitting of the Merriwa Police Court was held onTuesday, 13th instant. Messrs J J Shannon, W T Collins, G Person,
Js P, occupied the bench. An inebriate was fined 10/. An assualt case was settled out of court. Breaches of the peace outside the hall on St.Patricks Night were dealt with, resulting: Thomas McMahon, for riotous behaviour, pleaded guilty, and was fined 20/, with 6/ costs; C J O'Brien,on a similar charge was fined 20/, with 7/ costs; G Hazell 20/,drunkeness with 6/ costs, and for indecent language (to which he pleaded not guilty) he was fined 25/, with 8/ costs.
